The lower limb and foot are an intricate and complex structure. Prescription of Lower Limb orthoses requires careful assessment and understanding of the anatomy and biomechanics to ensure the Orthosis provided has the optimal desired effect. Orthoses are often recommended for: 

  • Correcting abnormal biomechanics

  • Controlling spasticity

  • Assisting with weakness or paralysis

  • Assist with providing pain relief

  • Immobilising to assist the healing process following injury or surgery.
