Geelong Orthotics Regional Outreach Clinics: Supporting Children and Adults Across South Western Victoria

At Geelong Orthotics, we believe everyone deserves access to high-quality orthotic care no matter where they live. That’s why we run regional outreach clinics, bringing expert services to communities across South Western Victoria to support both paediatric and adult patients.

Whether it’s a child recovering from a sporting injury, an adult managing chronic biomechanical pain, or anyone needing post-surgical support, our outreach clinics provide the same attentive care as our main Geelong clinic, closer to home.

Our Clinic Locations

Geelong (Main Clinic)

Located at 70 Bellerine Street, Geelong VIC 3220, our main clinic features full clinical services and an onsite orthotic workshop.

Ballarat (Monthly Outreach Clinic)

Once a month, one of our clinicians, Chris Doak, travels to Ballarat to offer comprehensive orthotic assessments, fittings, and reviews.

Warrnambool (Monthly Outreach Clinic)

Similarly, we host a Warrnambool clinic monthly perfect for families or adults seeking convenient access to care without the Geelong trip lead by our orthotist Kate Patton.

In addition to these locations, our team regularly provides orthotic services at healthcare facilities including Barwon Health, Werribee Mercy Hospital, St John of God Geelong, and Epworth Geelong.

Who We Help

Paediatric Patients

• Gait concerns: flat feet, toe walking, in-toeing

• Recovery from fractures, sprains, or sports injuries

• Neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy

Adult Patients

• Musculoskeletal pain: in feet, knees, hips, or back

• Post-surgical support or rehabilitation

• Diabetic foot care and preventive orthotics

What to Expect at a Regional Clinic

1. Initial Assessment

Similar to our Geelong clinic, we conduct gait analysis, joint and muscle assessment, and footwear review tailored for age and condition.

2. Device Discussion

Options include foot orthoses (FOs), ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs), or temporary protective devices for acute or post-injury care.

3. Casting or Fitting

a. Custom devices: plaster or fiberglass casting, followed by a return appointment at the next clinic or Geelong if preferred.

b. Acute injury cases: possible same-day prefabricated or modified device fitting

4. Follow-Up

We schedule regular reviews to check fit, adjust devices, and monitor progress especially important for growing children or recovering adults.

Why It Matters

Traveling to Geelong isn’t always practical, especially for families or those with mobility challenges. Our regional clinics in Ballarat and Warrnambool make orthotic care more accessible and reduce stress while maintaining the same high standard of service.

Footwear Collaboration

Through Geelong Footwear, we also provide orthotic-friendly shoes to support device integration, with fitting options available at our main Geelong site and arranged support where needed.
